Curriculum worksheets designed to ensure effective learning in Government Schools
The project aims at strengthening the public education system by complementing resources to ensure the comprehensive learning and development of children.
The objective is to build synergy between the school and the other stakeholders, mainly the local community. Also, to create an extended platform at school to facilitate effective learning which is not limited to the syllabus, but which would motivate the children to pursue education with a clear dream and aspiration in life.
The program focuses on the children coming from the diversified cultural and socio-economic background. Create an environment to harness a child’s creative nature and to gain knowledge out of their experience.
Expenses and complete supplementary education of 40 kids have been taken care of by Shwas Foundation.
Project Challenges
The disparity that exists between academics at private and government schools is a reason to bother. One of the biggest challenges faced by students at government schools is the lack of an impactful teaching methodology. Unlike private schools, there ain't any regular assessment of the students' strengths and weaknesses. In the long run, the teachers are not able to evaluate the progress made by the students. The dearth of effective educational assessment results in a flawed learning process impacting the overall development of students.
Results & Outcome
In order to bridge this chasm and bring a change in the learning process at government schools, Shwas has developed curriculum worksheets that will help teachers track the progress of each kid bimonthly and guide the kids accordingly to conquer the challenges they face. These worksheets have been designed on the lines of those used in Private schools.
These worksheets would prove to be effectual in evaluating the points of strength and weakness of each student and also assess the overall progress made by them. Eventually, this process of maintaining worksheets would help the teachers adopt a holistic approach towards the entire process of learning.

Shwas is an effort started by a group of volunteers to educate the underprivileged kids of Gulbai Tekra, Ahmedabad since the year 2009. We attempt to provide a safe and healthy environment to children coming from disadvantaged families so that they can openly share with us the challenges they face that hold them back from aspiring their dreams.
We teach kids every day for two hours. Our focus is value-based education, which includes teaching manners, inculcating a sense of hygiene and helping them to follow and fulfill their dreams. We also enroll potential students in a private school to ensure continuous quality education.
