Vocational Training provided to Women
Project Implementation Plan
The Courses are designed to bring women together on a common platform in order to empower them by educating them regarding their rights and by providing them opportunities to benefit from the services provided by Jyoti Sangh.
To motivate and encourage women to participate in various programs in different fields like Family Counseling, Vocational Training and Skill Up gradation so that they can gain confidence to take a lead and live their lives with dignity.
Under this project, courses like sewing, english speaking, fashion designing, jewelelry making, leather work, etc were included which gave the women varied choices to develop their skills in the field of their interest.
More often than not, women are percieved to the idea of running a home instead of stepping out and earning. They are not given a platform to showcase their skills or earn a livelihood for themselves.
The women face mindset related issues as they come from a conservative background.
Lack of support from their family makes it difficult for them to attend classes regularly.
They shoulder family responsibilities from a very early age, leaving them less time to develop their skills and make a career.
Results & Outcome
The project saw a number of ambitious women ready to develop their skills and take a step ahead.
The women got an opportunity to assume different gender roles by becoming breadwinners for their family.
Acess to livelihoods empowered women and allowed them to have a stronger voice in society
All women in the study felt that their self-confidence and self-esteem increased after joining the programme.
This shows that with modest funds much can be done to alleviate the harsh circumstances of the less fortuate women and to give them hope and opportunities for a better life.
