Flood donation in Himachal and Gurdaspur

Flood Relief & Education Support for Border and Mountain Communities (Punjab & Himachal Pradesh)

Severe flooding in border areas of Punjab and recurring floods and landslides across the Himalayan region have left thousands of families vulnerable, disrupting daily life, education, and access to essential resources. In response, KarmaKonnect has initiated urgent relief efforts to support affected rural and tribal communities in Gurdaspur, Punjab and remote mountain villages of Himachal Pradesh.

Punjab – School Support & Relief Distribution

In the border-area village of Mandiyawala, Gurdaspur, KarmaKonnect distributed essential school supplies and flood-relief materials to children whose education was disrupted due to flood damage. With the generous support of donors Jasmine, Savneet, and friends, students received notebooks, stationery, and other essential learning tools, helping restore a sense of normalcy and enabling them to resume schooling with dignity.

Himachal Pradesh – Immediate & Long-Term Relief

KarmaKonnect’s team reached remote flood-affected Himalayan villages to provide emergency support and assess long-term recovery needs. The team is working closely with local communities to identify families requiring urgent aid, including food, essential supplies, and safe living materials. Given the increasing frequency of floods and landslides in the Himalayas, the project also aims to build a framework for sustained rehabilitation and long-term resilience planning.

Call for Support

Both regions continue to face significant challenges, and additional resources are needed to meet the growing needs of affected families. KarmaKonnect invites donors, partners, and well-wishers to support the continuation and expansion of flood-relief and education-support initiatives for remote, rural, and border communities.

Together, we can help vulnerable families rebuild, recover, and return to stability with dignity and hope.

About the NGO

KarmaKonnect is a non-profit social venture that aims to connect the fragmented ‘giving’ ecosystem by empowering NGOs, donors, volunteers, corporates and government to create impactful social development interventions. KarmaKonnect is an enabler; motivating and empowering individuals and organizations to tap the growing philanthropy landscape by creating, connecting, and/or collaborating for credible projects and causes. The KarmaKonnect team is currently involved in a number of initiatives across the country, through various dedicated volunteers and NGOs. We are primarily working on:

• Child education and livelihood skills (slum evening schools/shelters and aiding low income govt schools) in Gujarat, Telangana, MP and Delhi through utilization of existing govt infrastructure and innovative collaborative models.

• Women Empowerment and legal help, rescue and rehabilitation projects (primarily on Gujarat and UP)

• Rural Empowerment and Citizens Change/Awareness programs (Gujarat, MP, UP, Telangana and Rajasthan).

• We also Executing comprehensive "adopt a village" projects for donors involving well researched sustainable solutions for development

• Training and placement of specially abled

• Refuge rehabilitation projects. (Urban slums)

• Adhoc Medical help and assistance as needed.
